Booking Terms
The terms that apply when you book and pay for a Watchstander Tech service. By checking the box on the payment page, you're agreeing to what's below.
What Watchstander Tech does
Security consulting, network protection, and cyber-safety education — nothing else. We don't do computer or hardware repair, malware removal, or cleanup of an already-compromised device; we don't sell or source devices, parts, or software; we don't move data between your devices for you (we'll show you how); and we don't offer general tech help such as printers, email setup, or video-call troubleshooting. If your appointment turns up something outside this list, we'll say so and point you to the right kind of help rather than take it on ourselves.
How sessions work
Nothing happens to your devices or accounts without your say-so. For hands-on visits, you type any password, PIN, or code yourself, while we look away — we never ask for or keep one. For remote sessions, you stay in control of your own screen the whole time (the Security check-up is the one exception: with your specific consent, it may use a remote-support tool). We never take on any role on your accounts — not a trusted contact, recovery contact, or authorized user — and we don't take photos or screenshots of your home, screens, or family. Home-visit gate or door codes are deleted after the appointment.
Family and minors
If you're booking for someone else, you're the billing contact, and the person being served is the client for permission and privacy purposes — we'll confirm with them directly before the appointment. One-on-one sessions and group classes are for adults. At a Senior & family visit or a new device setup, a child's device is worked on only with a parent or guardian present the whole time.
Payment
Every service is prepaid through its own booking link, followed by a short intake form and scheduling. Extra time at a home visit, when our schedule allows and you agree first, is billed at $18.75 per 15 minutes (one-on-one sessions have a hard stop instead, with no paid overrun). The Security check-up's extra time is $32.25 per 15 minutes remote or $37.25 in-home.
Travel
In-home appointments are free within 20 miles round trip of our home base in Panama City. Beyond that, travel is billed at $0.72 per mile up to 50 miles round trip; we don't take in-home jobs beyond 50 miles.
Changing or cancelling your appointment
Cancelling or rescheduling is free with at least 24 hours' notice (7 days for group classes). With less notice, we'll work with you case by case — sudden illness, a hospital stay, a death or family emergency, and severe weather or road closures are always considered. If you don't show up, we'll wait 10 minutes and try to reach you; get in touch within a day and we'll reschedule once for free, otherwise it's treated as a late cancellation. A missed session from a 4-pack is forfeited.
If we need to cancel or move your appointment
You can pick a new date or get a full refund; if you're an individual client picking a new date, you'll also get 15 minutes added free. If a booking turns out not to fit what we offer, you'll get a full refund or we'll help you switch to the right service, with any price difference paid or returned. We never charge for time spent actively helping with a scam in progress.
No warranty
Any recommendation we make — a password manager, a setting, a next step — comes with no warranty, express or implied.
