Privacy Policy
What we collect when you book, contact, or work with us, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and who — if anyone — it's shared with. Last updated September 26, 2026.
The short version
We collect the minimum needed to schedule and deliver your service — usually just your name and email, plus your address if we're coming to you. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We never ask for or record a password, PIN, gate code, or account number — and any gate or door code you give us for a visit is deleted the same day. We don't sell your information, and we don't use cookies or trackers on this site.
What we collect
When you book a service, our scheduling tool collects your name and email address to confirm the appointment. When you pay, Stripe's checkout collects the billing information it needs to process the payment, and for in-home services, the service address so we know where to go. If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email, and whatever message you send. If a home visit needs a gate or door code to get to your door, we ask for it only for that visit and delete it the same day — we don't keep a record of it. For the remote Security Check-Up, a session may use a screen-sharing tool, and any recording only happens with your specific consent given at the time.
What we never collect
We never ask for, and never record, your passwords, PINs, security codes, two-factor or recovery codes, financial account numbers, card numbers, or Social Security numbers. For hands-on visits, you type any password or code yourself while we look away. We don't become a trusted contact, recovery contact, or authorized user on any of your accounts.
How we use it
We use what we collect to schedule and deliver the service you booked, to communicate with you about your appointment, and to respond to questions sent through the contact form. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't build marketing profiles from it.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of outside services to run the business, and each only sees what it needs to do its job: Stripe processes payment; Proton hosts our scheduling, email, and secure file storage; Netlify hosts this website and its contact form; and Ghost runs The Log Book newsletter, which you only receive if you sign up for it separately. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep client and appointment records for three years after your last appointment with us, then purge them in an annual cleanup on the first business day of May. Contact-form messages are copied from our website host to secure storage and then deleted from the website host within 30 days. Payment records are kept by Stripe and our bookkeeping as long as tax law requires, separate from the rest of your file.
How we protect it
What we keep is stored in encrypted storage protected by multi-factor authentication. We don't keep client records on paper or on a device that leaves our secure storage.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers of any kind. We don't track what you do on this site or elsewhere.
If something ever goes wrong
If personal information we hold about you is ever involved in a security breach, we'll notify you as required under Florida law. (This section is a plain-language placeholder and hasn't yet had a final attorney review — see below.)
Children's privacy
Our services aren't directed at children. When a job involves a minor's device — a Senior & family visit or a new device setup, for example — a parent or guardian is present for the whole appointment, and we deal with the parent or guardian directly, not the child.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have on file for you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it sooner than our normal schedule — just get in touch. If you'd rather not use our online booking tool, you're welcome to reach us directly instead.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
Questions
If anything here doesn't make sense, or you'd like something explained before you book, get in touch — we're glad to walk through it with you.
